Pat Lobb Toyota, McKinney's New, Green Dealership, Is Now Open

Dealership Is Toyota's 16th in D/FW Metroplex

MCKINNEY, Texas, Aug. 31 -- Pat Lobb Toyota of McKinney celebrated its grand opening this week and is on its way to becoming the first LEED-certified automotive dealership in the U.S. Located at 3350 S. Central Expressway in McKinney, Texas, the 14.08-acre dealership has been designed from the ground up with environmental standards in mind.

From exterior panels made of recycled aluminum, energy-saving glass, a water cistern to capture and conserve water, to a recycling car wash, green wall and special membrane roofing system, the majority of the 56,123 square- foot dealership's construction elements were designed to conserve energy and water and incorporate recycled materials. The Gensler architectural firm designed the facility, and Turner Construction Company built it.

"Opening this new dealership in McKinney is exciting in itself," Pat Lobb says. "We are also pleased to lead the way with a super energy-efficient and environmental facility. Our team is already working with our neighbors in McKinney to provide tops in service in this great building. We are thrilled to be part of the community."

Initially 75 people have been employed by Pat Lobb Toyota of McKinney, with 40 in sales, 28 in parts and service and seven in administrative positions. Employment at the dealership is expected to rise to 125 by the end of the year.

LEED stands for Leadership of Energy and Environmental Design. Receiving LEED certification is an extensive process and involves being evaluated in six environmental categories. Pat Lobb Toyota has been built to meet the standards and operate with high environmental efficiency.

Pat Lobb Toyota will be serviced by Gulf States Toyota, the independent distributor serving 148 dealers in Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Mississippi.
