1st CENTENNIAL BANK NIGHT AT IRWINDALE
SPEEDWAY
FEATURES RACING, MONSTER TRUCKS AND AN AUTO RACING MEMROBILIA AUCTION

IRWINDALE, Calif. (August 30, 2006)
– 1st Centennial Bank
Night at Irwindale Speedway this Saturday (September 2) will feature the weekly
oval track racing program, a Monster truck exhibition and a motor sports
memorabilia silent auction.

The silent auction will be
hosted by Irwindale Speedway and the Pomona Valley Corvette Association and
features motor racing memorabilia including items donated by NASCAR Nextel
drivers and teams, event ticket packages for the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach
Champ Car race and the Auto Club 500 NASCAR Nextel Cup event as well as an
honorary pit crew member package with Champ Car’s PKV Racing Team. Proceeds from
the auction will benefit The Painted Turtle which is located in Lake Hughes, Calif. and is the sixth addition to Paul
Newman’s family of Hole In the Wall Camps for seriously ill children.

While Travis Thirkettle of
Newhall, Calif.
is atop the Auto Club late Model Division with a 25 point lead over reigning
division champion Tim Huddleston of Agoura Hills,
Calif., it has been Huddleston and Mike Johnson
of Covina, Calif. who have had impressive performances in
recent races. Huddleston has two wins and two second place finishes in his last
four starts while Johnson has captured victories in last two races.

Ron Peterson of Riverside, Calif. comes off of a strong second place
finish performance in his last race on August 19 and leads the points chase in
the King Taco Super Truck division. In that race, Bill Sedgwick of Acton, Calif. edged Peterson at the finish line for
the victory by 0.009 seconds in what was the closet margin of victory in a race
at Irwindale Speedway.

Tom Landreth of Alta Loma,
Calif. has a
36-point lead over Lindsey King of Cherry Valley, Calif. in the Legend Cars
division. Landreth has six wins this season while King has five top-three
finishes.

Monster Trucks will round
out the night’s activities. Big Foot, The Bounty Hunter, Iron Outlaw, Shocker,
Sudden Impact, Pit Bull and T-Maxx are scheduled to compete on a special course
set up in the infield of the oval track.
