Karting joins action packed weekend at Mosport
TORONTO, ONTARIO The Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship will be part
of the biggest race weekend of the year at Mosport the Labour Day Grand
Prix of Mosport. The popular karting series will be at the Driver
Development Track all weekend with practice sessions going on Friday,
followed by racing on Saturday and Sunday.
Many of the karters in this year's championship chase consider this the
biggest weekend of the year, because series namesake, Ron Fellows, is also
at Mosport this weekend, racing in both the ALMS and Speed GT races.
While many karters will sneak over to see how Ron is doing, they also have
to focus on the job at hand. With this being the fifth of six rounds,
championships can be won or lost this weekend.
After four rounds in the series the class leaders going into the weekend
are; Curtis Fox leads the Formula Senior class, Eric Gerrits leads Rotax
Max Senior, Mike Vincec leads F1-K Senior, Chris Holman leads World Formula
Senior, Greg Rempel leads Canada Senior, Cory Luciano leads Rotax Junior,
David Ostella leads F1-K Junior, Joshua Korenyi leads World Formula Junior,
Kevin Monteith leads Canada Junior Heavy, Ryan Klutt leads Canada Junior
Light and Anthony Furfari leads Cadet.
Mosport's long straights always lead to good racing at the Driver
Development Track, so it is a perfect place to take in the future stars of
Canadian motorsport.
