PBES to Host First-Ever Jobber Town Hall During NACE
BETHESDA, MD - Aug. 29, 2006 - The Paint, Body & Equipment Specialists (PBES) will hold its first-ever Town Hall breakfast during the International Autobody Congress & Exposition (NACE) at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Friday, Nov. 3 in Las Vegas, Nev.
"How Will Your PBE Distribution Business Survive?" is the theme of the panel discussion that will address issues impacting PBE jobbers including: regulatory and legislative issues, petroleum-based materials costs, trends in manufacturer distribution policies and programs and insurance and DRP issues.
The Town Hall will be moderated by Mark Clark, Professional PBE Systems. Panelists include Jay Sharp, Automotive Finishes; Todd D'Angelo, D'Angelos Automotive & Industrial Coatings; Jim Sell, National Paint & Coatings Association; and Michael Willins, Autobody Repair News.
"Our committee felt that an independent forum for jobbers was long overdue," said Linda Barrett, PBES committee chair, Barrett Paint Supply, Inc. "PBE distribution has been challenged by numerous issues over the past decade and the rate of change just continues to accelerate. We need to work together to stay relevant to our customers and maintain our position in the supply chain. We also need to figure out how to do that while maintaining an acceptable level of profitability."
Following the Town Hall will be a jobber-focused seminar, "Helping Shops Improve Paint Material Profitability," presented by industry consultant Hank Nunn, and Bill Krause, DuPont Performance Coatings.
The PBES Town Hall is sponsored by U.S. Chemical, 3M and BASF in association with PPG, DuPont Performance Coatings, Perfection Software and ComCept Solutions.
For more information on the Town Hall or to order tickets, contact Arlene Davis at 240-333-1030 or e-mail arlene.davis@aftermarket.org.
The Paint, Body & Equipment Specialists is a segment of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA). PBES is composed of business owners and executives representing the PBE industry's leading jobbers, warehouse distributors, manufacturers, business services and manufacturers' reps.
