USAC/MSCS AT TRI-STATE
USAC/MSCS COMBINE FOR SATURDAY'S TRI-STATE SPRINT;
RAIN, WET GROUNDS FORCE "IRWIN" CANCELATION
USAC and the Midwest Sprint Car Series (MSCS) combine for this Saturday night's Sprint car spectacular at the Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Ind. Stars from both series, including point leaders Levi Jones (USAC) and Alex Shanks (MSCS).
Jones holds a 35-point lead over teammate Josh Wise going into Saturday's race. Jones won the 2005 USAC National Sprint Car Championship but is still seeking his first feature victory of this year's campaign. One of his best outings came in July at Tri-State when he finished third behind Jon Stanbrough and Bryan Clauson.
Stanbrough, this year's "Indiana Sprint Week" Champion, could be a top threat to win again at Haubstadt. He currently ranks ninth in the USAC standings.
Rain and wet grounds combined to force cancellation of Sunday's scheduled "Kenny Irwin Classic" at the Winchester (Ind.) Speedway.
