Red Bull Racing's Guide To Local Cuisine

Recipe for Turkish coffee

¾ cup cold water
1½ teaspoons sugar (depending on sweetness desired)
3 tbsp freshly ground medium roast coffee
Crushed Cardoman seeds (to add to coffee)
This removes all that lovely coffee taste

Combine all ingredients in the cezve, the special coffee-making mini-saucepan, and mix with a spoon. Put
the cezve over very low heat and do not stir. After about 3 minutes, a thick foam rises to the surface. After
about  4  minutes,  begin  to  wish  you  had  remembered  to buy  a  jar  of  instant  coffee  powder.  Just  as  the
coffee is about to bubble up and overflow, immediately remove the cezve from the heat. Gently divide the
foam between 2 demitasse cups, then place the cezve back on the heat for a few seconds. After about 5
minutes,  wish  you  could  afford  one  of  those  flashy  espresso  machines  just  like  they  use  in  the  F1
motorhomes. Pour the coffee into the cups, carefully pouring it down the sides of the cups in order not to
disturb the foam. The coffee grains will settle at the bottom of the cup. Drink coffee, ensuring you do not
eat the bit at the bottom. Feel slightly unfulfilled.

DAVID COULTHARD, (Finish Position DNF, Start Position: 16th)
"Not the result we wanted today. The balance of the car was okay and improved after we adjusted the front
wing and tyre pressures during the first pit stop. We were competitive in sections of the race compared to
the cars around us and towards the end of the race I was catching Webber. I thought I could overtake him,
but I had to retire with a gearbox problem."

CHRISTIAN KLIEN, (Finish Position 11th, Start Position: 10th)
"That was one of the toughest races this season. It was so hot and Turn eight is such a long corner, it's
very tough on the neck, but I kept pushing until the end. The car was good in the first stint and had good
balance, but I suffered with understeer in the second part. In the last section, the car was a little better
again, but we were not really racing here today. It's frustrating to start tenth and finish eleventh."

CHRISTIAN HORNER, "A disappointing result. From a good position, Christian unfortunately slipped back.
He had some damage to his car's front left bargeboard, which caused some understeer. David retired with
a gearbox failure after showing reasonable pace - it's frustrating."
