Kanaan Qualifies Team 7-Eleven Car
in Fourth Position at Infineon Raceway

SONOMA Calif. (Aug. 26, 2006) - Tony Kanaan recorded a best lap of 107.209 miles per hour
(1:17.2320 seconds) in the #11 Team 7-Eleven Dallara/Honda/Firestone during the six-car qualifying
shootout at the 12-turn, 2.26-mile Infineon Raceway road course and will start from the outside of the
second row for Sunday afternoon's running of the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma.
The 13th event of the 2006 IndyCar Series season is set to go green at 3:45 p.m. (EDT) Sunday
with ESPN providing live broadcast coverage of the 80-lap event beginning at 3:30 p.m. (EDT). The race
may also be heard on XM Satellite Radio on XM channel 145.

Tony Kanaan, #11 Team 7-Eleven Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
"I think we improved the Team 7-Eleven car from this morning. We're closer to the Penske cars
and Ganassi cars than we were before. We have a good race car. I think our race car is better than our
qualifying car. We qualified better than we expected. All four of us will be working together tomorrow and
our strategy is simple. We are going to try to win this race."
