Garron Cadiente "The Bull" Qualifies 3rd Overall In Longest Off Road Race in
the United States

 

Las Vegas, Nevada (August 24, 2006) - Best In The Desert's Vegas to Reno
race is the longest point-to-point nonstop off road desert race in the
United States.  Held in torturous Nevada desert, the race runs through the
entire state of Nevada, beginning in the southern half and racing to the
north finishing in Reno, Nevada.  

 

Race qualifying action kicked off this morning in the Southern Nevada desert
as BITD race promoter, Casey Folks, waved the flag at 6:30 a.m. signaling
the qualifying period for Friday's race.  G&R Racing's Garron Cadiente,
nicknamed "The Bull," drove his #38 Geiser Brothers Trophy Truck to third
position overall for the start of tomorrow's race. 

 

"The truck ran excellent and we hung it out on the ragged edge throughout
our qualifying run, but we knew that Rob MacCachren was qualifying the #4
Mexicana Logistics Trophy Truck and he was the first truck off the line.  I
was the last truck to qualify so that might have hurt us a little bit
because the track was pretty tore up by the time we had our chance to run,
but our BFGoodrich Baja KR tires hooked up in the deep Nevada silt as we got
into the top three.  We'll be fast tomorrow and we're looking forward to a
great race."  

 

Rob MacCachren driving the # 4 Mexicana Logistics Trophy Truck was the
number one qualifier.

 

During his television interview with Outdoor Life Network, Cadiente said,
"Our race strategy is to run at a fast pace and let the race develop while
pushing hard to the finish.  We won the last race, the Terrible's Town 250,
and we're comfortable here in Nevada.  Let's see what happens tomorrow."
