Directed Raises More Than $300,000 for Charity at Fifth Annual Tournament

VISTA, Calif., Aug. 23, 2006 -- The Directed Electronics Charitable Foundation, a not-for-profit 501(C)(3) organization whose mission is: "To improve the quality of life for disadvantaged children in Southern California and the communities in which we do business," is pleased to announce that it raised more than $300,000 for charity at Monday's fifth annual Directed Electronics Charity Golf Tournament at La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California. Pro Football Hall of Fame legend Franco Harris was Guest of Honor.

Harris spoke at the Tournament luncheon, as did U.S. Representative Darrell Issa (R - CA) the founder of Directed Electronics. Then Directed President and CEO Jim Minarik disbursed checks totaling more than $100,000 to representatives of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Vista, Oceanside, South Coast San Clemente and Southwest County Temecula, as well as North County Solutions for Change.
