Sense Technologies Announces Manufacturer Rep Alliances for ScopeOut(R) Safety Mirrors to Enable Product Sales to Auto Dealerships in Five States
PHOENIX--Aug. 23, 2006--Sense Technologies Inc. (OTCBB: SNSG) is creating a national marketing network of manufacturer's reps for sales of the company's safety mirror product ScopeOut(R) to automotive dealerships throughout the United States. Today the company announced that it has signed additional alliances with rep organizations, which will enable Sense to have ScopeOut(R) sales to a potential base of more than 450 auto dealerships in the states of Idaho, North Carolina, Wyoming, Colorado and New York. The company will continue expanding the current program until it has full representation throughout the United States.Bruce Schreiner, president of Sense Technologies Inc., stated, "We considered many strategic models before deciding to build a national distribution system to auto dealerships, utilizing experienced manufacturer and service reps with established relationships in their field." As part of the support program for ScopeOut(R), Sense Technologies provides rep companies with installation training as well as sales presentation and marketing support. In exchange, these rep companies have agreements to sell Sense backing awareness products in their respective territories.
Schreiner further stated, "These rep companies will provide a solid foundation for the Sense national marketing program and will offer us a growing stream of sales to automotive dealerships, most of which will have the capacity to sell, service and install ScopeOut(R) on site."
In conjunction with ScopeOut(R), Sense is creating a no-cost informational program for dealerships to assist them in educating customers about backing awareness. The Back-Over Safety Society (BOSS), being created by Sense, is a voluntary program that will provide dealerships with materials to help them inform customers about risk factors and best practices with regard to safe reversing, especially in parking lots and driveways. According to KIDS AND CARS (www.KidsAndCars.org), a leading safety advocacy organization, more than 2,500 children, mostly under the age of 4, are injured by reversing automobiles each year. Of those, some 100 children will likely lose their lives as a result of these tragedies. In 70 percent of the cases when a young child is hit, either a parent or close relative is behind the wheel. Seniors over the age of 65 are the second highest risk group for having fatal incidences with reversing vehicles. With proper awareness and affordable technologies, safety advocates believe that many of these tragedies can be averted.
Schreiner stated, "ScopeOut(R) offers dealerships an effective, affordable product to help them take a leadership stand when it comes to back-over safety. We believe that once these dealers are acquainted with the full range of safety benefits that ScopeOut(R) provides, many will opt to pre-load ScopeOut(R) on their new and pre-owned vehicle inventories, a decision which should have a positive impact on whole communities."
