Todd Bowsher Weekend Recap
Double Header turns Trio for Bowsher
For Immediate Release
(8/22/06 - Springfield, OH) - The double duty weekend of Michigan
International Speedway combined with the 1-mile dirt at the Illinois State Fairgrounds
turned to somewhat of a triple header for Todd Bowsher and the Jack Bowsher &
Associates Motorsports team.
On Thursday afternoon Todd was forced to use a provisional starting spot of
41st for the Hantz Group 200 at Michigan International Speedway. However,
during the event Bowsher managed to drive his Gordon Food Service / GFS
Marketplace Ford to the 24th finishing position.
"We really can't put our finger on what the problem was with the car here at
MIS. said Bowsher, we've came here with the exact same set up that we had
here in June and ended up quite a bit slower, I just don't have an answer, but
we did come out of here with a 24th place finish and an undamaged race car, so
we'll go on to Springfield and see what we can do on the dirt."
Sunday would see the ARCA RE/MAX Series and the Jack Bowsher & Associates
Motorsports crew roll into the 1-mile dirt track at Springfield Illinois for
the Allen Crowe Memorial 100.
Bowsher drove his Safe Auto Insurance #21 to the track for the early morning
practice session, but after only a few laps Todd felt something amiss with
the engine. Back in the pit area the crew assessed the problem and made the
decision to pull out the back-up car.
The back -up car being already set-up for the short tracks forced the crew
to work feverishly to throw a dirt track set up at it, changing things over
from the primary car
Todd was once again compelled to make use of a provisional starting spot of
31st due to time restraints and the fact that a back-up car was used.
Bowsher battled all day at the wheel of the Safe Auto Ford and earned a
respected 14th place finish on the dirt.
"Altogether it was a pretty tough weekend on all of us, said Bowsher, we
struggled with the set up at MIS and had the engine problem at Springfield which
is rare for us, Joe Rhyne has always taken good care of us when it comes to
the engines, so I can't complain about that. I think we eventually maintained
out points position so we'll just head to Milwaukee and keep diggin."
The Jack Bowsher & Associates Motorsports team head to the historic
Milwaukee Mile for the Governor's Cup 200 on Sunday, August 27.
