Johnson Controls Announces Change to Executive Leadership

BURSCHEID, Germany, August 22 --

- European Executive Assumes Global Responsibility for the Automobile Group

Johnson Controls, one of the world's leading suppliers of automotive interior systems, electronics and batteries, has appointed Dr. Beda Bolzenius as Vice President and President Interior Experience, formerly called Automotive Group. In his new function, which is effective immediately, he is responsible for Johnson Controls' global automotive business.

Beda Bolzenius was previously in charge of the company's European, South American and South African automotive business. Two years ago he joined Johnson Controls from Robert Bosch GmbH. During his 18-year career at Bosch, he served in a variety of senior management positions. In his new position, Beda Bolzenius will report directly to Keith Wandell, President and Chief Operating Officer at Johnson Controls.

His successor, Johannes Roters, 49, is promoted to Vice President and General Manager Europe, South Africa and South America for Interior Experience, effective immediately, and will assume Beda Bolzenius' prior responsibilities. Since 1989 Johannes Roters has held a number of leading management positions at Johnson Controls. He most recently served as the company's Vice President and General Manager for Operations, Program Management and Best Practices in Europe. In his new function he will report to Beda Bolzenius.
