School Bus Racing at SSP this Week
Great Amrican School Bus Championship This Thursday at SSP and an Exciting Night of Racing on Tap for Friday NEWBERRYTOWN, PA (August 21, 2006) - On Thursday, August 24, the popular Great American School Buses will be in action along with a 50-lap Xtreme Stock Car Championship and the Classic Cars. A $100.00 will be added to the winner's purse of the 50 lap XSC Championship from Larry Erb. The Sprint Cars will not be in action and will return on Thursday, August 31 for the York County Nationals. The makeup feature event for the Classic Cars feature which was postponed due to rain on Thursday, June 22 will also be run on Thursday night, August 24. The starting lineup will be: 1) 112 Bil Brown Sr.; 2) 7 Jamie Lloyd; 3) Jim Crocker; 4) 21 Kurt Welsh; 5) 34 Joe Snodgrass; 6) 29 Pete Neal; 7) 48 Allen Cullum; 8) 80 Jack Yingling; 9) 95 Fred Cullum; 10) 11 Al Daniels; 11) 22 Allen Daniels Jr.; 12) 55 Glenn Elliott; 13) Brian Diehl. On Friday, August 18, the Trail Motors Super Sportsman, Late Models and Street Stocks return in action along with a Women on Wheels School Bus Race. Gates will open for both the pit area and grandstand area at 5:00 p.m. on both Thursday, August 24 and Friday, August 25. Warmups begin at 7:00 p.m. with racing action beginning at 7:30 p.m. Race fans can continue to expect a fast paced, action packed 2 ½ to 3 hour program each and every night. Grandstand ticket prices for Thursday, August 24 are Adults & Teens (13 & older) $10.00 and Children (12 & under) are free. Pit pass prices are $20.00 with a reduced rate for SSP license holders. Grandstand ticket prices for Friday, August 25 are Adults (18 & older) $12.00; Teens (13-17) $8.00; and Children (12 & under) are free. Pit pass prices are $20.00 with a reduced rate for SSP license holders. There will be an SSP Repeat Fan Discount of $2.00 for each person with a ticket stub from August 17 or August 18 events for both August 24 or August 25. Returning fans are encouraged to write their name, address and phone number on the back of the stub to be entered into special drawings during the season for great prizes. Last season, 10 winners were drawn from the repeat fans and each winner received $30.00 in SSP Gift Certificates for tickets or concessions. The discount is not valid for pit pass purchases. The Susquehanna Speedway Park is located off I-83 to exit 32, then 1.4 miles NW on SR382 to York Road, then 1.3 miles south. Vendor fees are $10.00 per day and setup begins at 5:30 a.m. Space will be limited to a "reasonable" amount for each vendor. Food and drink vendors are not permitted. This flea market will continue every Sunday throughout the rest of the year. Racecar Flea Market on Saturday, November 4 - SSP will host a racecar flea market with all forms of racing welcome on Saturday, November 4.
