SHEPHERD EARNS TOP-10 FINISH IN SECOND ARCA/REMAX SERIES RACE

BROOKLYN, MICH. (August 19, 2006)- Peter Shepherd started off the weekend with a fifth place qualifying effort, making his way around the 2-mile Michigan International Speedway in 39.404 seconds (182.732 mph). The team had high hopes for the race and Shepherd did not disappoint, as he earned a tenth-place finish in only his second career ARCA/REMAX Series race.

Shepherd found himself battling a tight handling condition in the early laps of Friday's race, something that the Roulo Brothers Racing entry would deal with the remainder of the day. The first caution of the day came out on lap 26, bringing Shepherd to pit road to the attention of his No. 39 Headz Gamez/BeavEx/Logels Auto Parts/Reliance Tool crew. They gave him four tires, fuel and a track bar adjustment to try and free up the car.

It took a few laps before the handling came around to Peter, allowing him to focus on his run to the front. With a reminder to "hit his marks" from crew chief Gary Roulo, Shepherd was able to maneuver his way around the track and hold his position in the top-10.

A slight miscue on Shepherd's second pit stop resulted in a tire getting away from the crew and rolling across pit road. The incident meant Peter had to start at the tail end of the longest line in the 16th position with 28 laps remaining. Shepherd's Ford was tight behind other cars, but the driver was able to work his way forward for a tenth place finish.

"I really want to thank Headz Gamez, BeavEx, Logels Auto Parts, Reliance Tool for sponsoring me this weekend," said Shepherd after the race. "Also thanks to the Roulo Brothers and everyone on my No. 39 team. They gave me a great car and I look forward to Milwaukee to see if we can improve even more."
