No. 10 Ford Power Stroke Diesel by International / Terry Cook
Bristol 200 / Bristol Motor Speedway - Wednesday, August 23, 2006
STORY LINES LEADING INTO BRISTOL:
~ Nashville Top-10 A Record for ppc Racing: Driver Terry Cook's
10th-place finish at Nashville Superspeedway last week was ppc Racing's
ninth top-10 finish of the year, breaking last year's record of eight. The
top-10 finish was ppc Racing's 24th-career top-10 in the NASCAR Craftsman
Truck Series. With the good finish, Cook is now seventh in the NCTS driver
points standings, 306 points out of first
~ ppc Racing in the Top-10 NASCAR Busch Series (NBS): ppc Racing
Owner, Greg Pollex is seeing one of his best years in NASCAR competition
with both his NCTS and NBS teams in the top-10 driver points standings. In
the NBS, driver Kenny Wallace (No. 22 AutoZone Ford Fusion) is 10th in the
standings with teammate, John Andretti (No. 10 RVs.com / Camping World Ford
Fusion) in 11th. Andretti is currently the leader in the Raybestos
Rookie-of-the-Year standings and earned his best-career NBS finish two weeks
ago at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International
~ A Good Truck for Cook Comes to Bristol: The No. 10 Ford Power
Stroke Diesel by International race team is bringing Truck No. 10-08 to
Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS) Wednesday. The team has run this truck three
times in 2006. BMS will mark its 11th-career start. Truck No. 10-08 is the
same truck Cook crashed at Kentucky Speedway last year while leading the
race with five laps to go
~ "Professor Cook" Teaches Rookies: Before every race weekend, the
NCTS holds a rookie drivers meeting prior to the first practice session with
Cook as the professor. Cook teaches the rookies everything from the racing
line to avoiding trouble in the corners. On a typical race weekend, there
are more than 10 Raybestos Rookie-of-the-Year contenders attempting to
qualify for the next race. Class has been in session since February
~ Breaking the Barriers for Women: Nicole Addison is leading the way
for women to enter NASCAR with aspirations to serve as over-the-wall crew
members. Addison is the rear tire changer for the No. 10 Ford Power Stroke
Diesel by International race team and is the only female over-the-wall crew
member in NASCAR's top-three series. This is her second full-time year in
the NCTS
~ Spotters Are More Important at Bristol: Close quarters and tight
side-by-side racing call for spotters to be at the top of their game. For
Tony Hirschman III, he is one of the best in the business. Hirschman began
spotting for his father, Tony Sr. in 1996 in the NASCAR Whelen Modifieds.
Hirschman has spotted in the IRL from 1999-2003 and has been in the NBS and
NCTS the last three racing seasons
