More news on PRI Sprint & Midget Classic
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ORLANDO SPEEDWORLD - SITE OF 2ND ANNUAL MOPAR PRI SPRINT & MIDGET CLASSIC ADDS GRANDSTANDS, FOOD COURT
Laguna Beach, CA (August 18, 2006) - Hot on the heels of additional corporate involvement, the 2nd Annual MOPAR/PRI Sprint & Midget Classic, to be held Friday night, Dec. 15th, 2006, at Orlando (Florida) Speedworld, will see additional grandstands and an expanded food court, ready to serve the anticipated SRO crowd that experienced the first race last year.
Held in conjunction with the 19th Annual Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Trade Show, this year's MOPAR/PRI Sprint & Midget Classic will again offer plenty of action with a long list of races and support events throughout the evening.
Last year's packed house of 8,000 racefans witnessed the inaugural races, and encircled the track, necessitating expanded grandstand seating which will accommodate another 2,500 people. Demand for food and refreshments also warranted an all-new food court which will offer a wider variety of items for both young and old.
"We are elevating this exciting race night to a new level," said Steve Lewis, promoter of the race and producer of the PRI Trade Show. "It will be the perfect place to mix business with pleasure."
The racing will feature both a Sprint and a Midget race, each running 40 laps. Impact Racing will offer a $50,000 bonus award to the driver who can win both the Sprint and Midget feature events, based in part on the additional challenge of the winner of the first race starting from dead last in the second feature.
Nitto Tire returns as sponsor of the popular drifting exhibition, while Focus Midgets and Legends Cars also will be featured on the evening's bill.
General admission tickets are $20.00 each. Shuttle service from the Orange County Convention Center, where the PRI Trade Show will be held, is complimentary. Gates open at 3:00 p.m. and the first race begins at 7:00 p.m. For more information, please call 800.515.8445.
Masters Entertainment will serve as the TV production company and create a tape-delayed show that will air on ESPN2. Associate Sponsors include: Cometic Gasket, Oakley, C & R, JE Pistons, L.A. Sleeve, Edelbrock, The Driver's Challenge, Brown & Miller Racing Solutions, Fuel Safe and Performance Friction.
