McCann Leads Viper 1-2 In Opening SPEED GT Qualifying at Road America

ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (Aug. 18, 2006) - Michael McCann, of N. Canton, Ohio,
paced a tight SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge GT field in the
first practice at the Road America Generac 500 weekend. Tommy Archer, of
Duluth, Minn., and Ricardo Imery, of Caracas, Venezuela, completed the
top three.

Driving the No. 82 McCann Plastics/K&N Filters Dodge Viper, McCann
turned a fastest time of 2:16.572 (106.704 mph) around the famed
4.048-mile circuit, just edging Archer's No. 5 c3contrils/Dodge
Motorsport Dodge Viper by 0.096-second.

"It feels really good. It feels fantastic," McCann said. "It's nice to
be back at a Viper track. We haven't been at one for awhile, so this
track seems to be very favorable to the Viper. If we couldn't do it
here, I think we better pack up and go home. So far so good, but it's
only practice. I don't know if everybody is running as hard as they can
right now, but I like our position."

Rookie Imery was third fastest in his No. 64 AXA Financial/Cavenas
Elevators Porsche 911 GT3 with a fastest time of 2:16.691 (106.611 mph),
just a whisker off Archer.

The XM/Mobil 1/Motorola/On Star Cadillac CTS-Vs of Ron Fellows, of
Mississauga, Ontario and Andy Pilgrim, of Boca Raton, Fla., completed
the top five.

The second, and final SPEED GT practice is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. (CDT)
this evening. Qualifying will be at 9:25 a.m. (CDT) on Saturday.
