IRL's Rice, Race Car Head to McCovey Cove

Indianapolis 500 winning car & driver 

in McCovey Cove For Giants-Reds Game

 

Car will be in McCovey Cove as early as 6 p.m. for special photo op

 

WHAT:

2004 Indianapolis 500 winner Buddy Rice will promote the Aug. 25-27 Indy
Grand Prix of Sonoma at Infineon Raceway during the San Francisco
Giants' game with the Cincinnati Reds at AT&T Park.

 

Rice and his No. 15 Rahal Letterman Racing Team Argent Honda-powered
Dallara will join fans in McCovey Cove just beyond the right-field
stands for the first two innings of the game. The No. 15 car that won
the 2004 Indianapolis 500 will be placed on a barge in McCovey Cove.

 

WHEN:

Thursday, Aug. 24. 

 

INTERVIEWS/MEDIA OPP:

Rice will be available for interviews from 6:45 p.m. - 7 p.m. at Westar
Marine Services on Pier 50, 400 Terry Francois Blvd., San Francisco.
(Two piers south of AT&T Park).

 

SPECIAL PHOTO OP:
The No. 15 Rahal Letterman car that Buddy Rice drove to the 2004
Indianapolis 500 Championship, will already be in McCovey Cove by 6 p.m.
Television stations are welcome to shoot the car in McCovey Cove during
drive-time traffic reports.
