PASTORELLI TO RETURN HOME AND PARTICIPATE IN THE BAVARIA CITY RACING EVENT IN ROTTERDAM
EAST LANSING, Michigan (August 17, 2006) – As the Champ Car World Series and Nicky Pastorelli have been in full swing these last couple of weeks, the Holland-native returns home to participate in one of the biggest racing events in the Netherlands this weekend.
The Bavaria City Racing event is on Sunday, August 20 and is a demonstration and parade of national and international race cars and drivers from the most prestigious racing leagues. Pastorelli will be attending the event in Rotterdam (The Netherlands) and will drive an old Formula One car, an Alfa 12 cylinder from 1980. He will also drive for the charity Kids Rights, where the passenger seat will be sold for a guest to join Pastorelli for a ride in another exotic car.
“I am really happy to do this event,” said Pastorelli. “I participated in the Bavaria City Racing event last year, and it was a huge success. It was something fun for the people and the fans, especially for me getting to do something like this at home in Holland. I am excited to drive one of the old Formula One cars, because any F1 car is nice to drive, but even more so an old one because of all the history that is behind it. I hope to put on a nice show for all those who turn out and I think it is going to be a great time.”
Champ Car and about 90 million TV viewers were introduced to Bavaria City Racing when Pastorelli’s #8 Rocketsports Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone Champ Car was decaled with the blue-and-green event logo as he made his Champ Car debut on the streets of downtown Houston, Texas.
