Need for Speed Formula D Drift event in Seattle, Wash., new set of
Cooper tires await winner
FINDLAY, OHIO, August 17, 2006 - COOPER TIRE & RUBBER COMPANY
and CarDomain.com announced today that Robert Soriano from Carson,
Calif., has won the "Drift in the Drizzle" sweepstakes. Soriano and a
friend will be flown to the Need for Speed Formula D Drift event in
Seattle, Wash., tomorrow and Saturday, where they will receive passes to
the event, hotel accommodations, $500 spending cash, and a weekend
packed with adrenaline. Not to mention, Soriano also won a set of Cooper
ultra-high performance tires.
"I've always wanted to see drift racing, so having the opportunity to
watch the top drifters in action is going to be awesome," said Soriano.
"I'm still really shocked that I'm the lucky winner."
Cooper Tire, in its third consecutive year of drifting involvement,
supplies its drifters with a mix of Cooper Zeon 2XS, Cooper Zeon ZPT and
Cooper Zeon Sport A/S tires. Cooper Zeon ultra high-performance tires
provide the high-end performance and exceptional handling capabilities
needed to succeed in drifting - a sport which is notoriously hard on
tires.
Cooper is experiencing another successful season with three drivers in
the top 25 overall led by Casper "Da Ghost" Canul who is in fifth place
after reaching the podium in last month's event in Sonoma, Calif.
"We're excited to provide Robert and his friend the opportunity to
experience Need for Speed Formula D Drift action in VIP style," said
Chris Pantani, Director of Ultra High Performance Marketing and Business
Development for Cooper Tire. "We have no doubt that once he begins
driving on his new set of ultra-high performance tires that he'll be a
Cooper Tire customer for life."
