FIRST BALDWIN MOTION ÔEXPORTÕ CAMARO GOES TO
 PUERTO RICO

Drag racer ÔPitoÕ Cruz orders a 600 hp Phase III
540 Camaro and reignites Motion Fever on the
tropical island!

Aguadilla, PRÉ Luis Felipe ÔPitoÕ Cruz Morales is
the newest member of the exclusive Baldwin-Motion
Owners Club. 
HeÕs been involved with musclecars and drag
racing in Puerto Rico for almost 40 years and has
ordered the #04 1969 
Phase III Camaro. 

ÒTotal production of Baldwin-Motion SS-427
($169,000) and Phase III ($189,000) big-block
1969 Camaros is limited to just 12 cars and #04
is the first to be designated as an ÔexportÕ
vehicle,Ó said Motion President, Joel Ehrenpreis.

Very similar in appearance to the first
production Phase III Camaro owned by Columbiana,
OH collector Dave Flynn, CruzÕs 1969 Phase III
Camaro will also be finished in Motion Red with
Silver striping and a red leather interior.
However, unlike FlynnÕs five-speed,
Kinsler-injected 565-inch Camaro, #04 will be
powered by a 600-hp carbureted 540-inch big-block
backed up by a modified TH-400 automatic
transmission.

Between 1967 and 1974, dozens of Baldwin-Motion
and Motion-branded ultra-high-performance
specialty Chevrolets were built for export.
Records reveal that cars were shipped to
customers in Switzerland, Holland, Germany,
Norway, Iceland, Dominican Republic, Haiti,
Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Iran, Kuwait, 
Lebanon and Saudi Arabia in addition to
deliveries in Hawaii, Canada and Mexico.

in San Juan and I were special guests at the
opening of the Caguas Drag Strip,Ó said Joel ÔMr.

in Puerto Rico.Ó

unbeatable Motion-equipped Chevys and Corvettes
