DaimlerChrysler Mack Engine Plant to Conduct Safety Readiness Drill

   Emergency management test to be observed by Detroit Fire Department,
                            Police Department

  WHAT:  DaimlerChrysler Mack Avenue Engine Plant I (MAEP I) evacuation
         drill.

  WHO:   Emergency management drill will be observed by Chrysler Group
         Incident Management Teams and City of Detroit Fire and Police
         officials.

  WHEN:  10:40 a.m., Thursday, August 17, 2006

  WHERE: DaimlerChrysler Mack Avenue Engine Plant I, 4000 St. Jean Avenue,
         Detroit, Mich.

  WHY:   DaimlerChrysler is testing its emergency preparedness.  A pilot
         exercise for other manufacturing facilities, Thursday's evacuation
         will be closely monitored, reviewed and used to further refine
         company safety tactics.

  OTHER: This advisory is informational only.  Media are not encouraged to
         attend.  Company officials will not be available for interviews.
         Mack Avenue Engine Complex is comprised of two plants (Mack I and
         Mack II).  Thursday's test affects only Mack I.  Mack I encompasses
         1.4 million square feet of floor space and builds the 4.7-liter
         V-8 engine used in the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Commander, Dodge
         Durango, Dakota and Ram.
