Berge, 42, has been serving as interim director of Delphi Medical Systems since January 2006. During that time, he has also been the operations manager for Delphi Medical Systems' facility in Longmont, Colorado, which specializes in complex electromechanical contract manufacturing. He will maintain this responsibility in his new role.
Berge will report to Francisco (Frank) Ordonez, vice president, Delphi Corporation and president, Delphi Products & Service Solutions, as Delphi Medical Systems is now part of Delphi's aftermarket division.
"We have seen what Dave has done with the Colorado operations and what he has done on an interim basis over the last few months and have been proud. He is a perfect choice to lead the group," said Ordonez. "He is an excellent leader to the more than 250 employees in Delphi Medical Systems and he knows what needs to be done to continue the growth of the segment."
"We have a wonderful team and I'm excited to lead us into the future," said Berge. "This is an exciting time and we have many challenges ahead, but we will continue to work on being a strong segment of Delphi's Products & Service Solutions group and focus on our growth."
Berge first came to Delphi in December 2004 as vice president of operations for Peak Industries, based in Longmont, Colorado. When Delphi Medical Systems acquired Peak, Berge became operations manager of the Longmont site.
Berge has more than 20 years of experience in engineering, quality, manufacturing and design. His expertise lies in contract manufacturing, which is a growth point for Delphi Medical Systems.
