New Management Board Member at Webasto

Webasto Appoints New CMO From Within Ranks; Phillip Thompson Now Responsible for Comfort Products and Group Marketing

STOCKDORF, Germany, Aug. 15 -- The supervisory board of Webasto AG has appointed Phillip A. Thompson, 44, as a member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Thompson will join current board members Franz-Josef Kortum (CEO) and Dr. Helmut Leube (COO). Webasto is a global company and leading Tier 1 supplier of auxiliary heaters, air conditioners and convertible/roof/body systems.

Mr. Thompson joined Webasto four years ago and led the business unit responsible for special products and markets known as Global Comfort Solutions. This division has the mission of enhancing human comfort in mobility and is the market leader in Engine-off Comfort Solutions (EOCS). The division is comprised of six customer-focused market segments: Car, Truck, Bus, Marine, Recreational Vehicles, and Special Markets (Defense, Rail, Construction, Off-Highway).

In his new position Mr. Thompson continues to lead Global Comfort Solutions, which has shown solid growth and excellent potential, and also assumes the position of Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) with responsibility for Webasto group marketing. Phillip Thompson is an American citizen who was born and raised in Germany. He holds an international MBA from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida ('92) and speaks fluent English, French, Spanish and German. Previous to Webasto Mr. Thompson worked for several Tier 1 suppliers, namely Continental-Teves, Honeywell (Allied Signal) and Federal-Mogul.
