RMR HOSTS SPRINTS SATURDAY

Three races remain in the 2006 Young Automotive Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Series but only 103 points separate the top-four in the standings.

Ryan Burdett of West Jordan, Utah remained in the title hunt with his initial series triumph Sunday night at Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake City, Utah. He paced the final five laps of the 40-lap feature after passing former champion Jim Waters on lap 36. Waters took second ahead of defending champ Jimmy Wysong, Jeff Bergener and Mark Bergener.

Burdett's win left him 103 back of series leader Wysong, while Waters trails the leader by only 35 and Dave Fitzgerald is just 75 back.

The series continues this Saturday night with another 40-lap feature at the 3/8-mile paved oval.
