5-Point CRA Gap

Only five points separate the leaders in the USCA/CRA Sprint Car standings as the series prepares for this Saturday night's race at Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway.

Defending champion Damion Gardner is five ahead of Cory Kruseman, while Mike Spencer trails Kruseman by 81 in third.

Tony Jones, currently fourth in the points, is 216 back of the leader but could be the one to watch Saturday, in light of his July 1 and Aug. 5 victories at the 1/2-mile dirt oval.

Nine different drivers have tasted victory at Perris so far in 2006, including seven of the top-10 in the standings.
