Atlanta Motor Speedway Adds Papa John's Pizza Shootout ASA Southern Modified Race after Georgia-Pacific Qualifying

Daytona Beach, FL. (August 14, 2006) - In a joint effort, officials from the Southern Modified Race Tour, Atlanta Motor Speedway and the American Speed Association (ASA) announced the addition of an ASA Southern Modified Race tour at the legendary Georgia oval. The race will take place on Friday, October 27. Held in conjunction with the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup qualifying for the Bass Pro Shops 500, the ASA Southern Modified event will take place on the smaller quarter-mile track which is located on the front stretch of Atlanta Motor Speedway. This 75-lap shootout, presented by Papa John's Pizza, will be the first time in the history of the track that the Modifieds have raced on its surface
