Free CJ-4 Seminar Offered by Chevron at GATS
SAN RAMON, CALIF., August 14, 2006 - Owner operators and fleet maintenance managers are encouraged to sign up for Chevron's free API CJ-4 seminar at this year's Great American Trucking Show (GATS). The presentation will take a detailed look at the new heavy-duty diesel engine oil category and its use with 2007 and legacy engines.
The seminar features Jim McGeehan, Chevron's Global Manager of Diesel Engine Oil Technology, SAE Fellow, Chevron Fellow and Chairman of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Heavy Duty Engine Oil Classification Panel, along with other Chevron experts who will address key 2007 commercial automotive emissions and related engine technology questions.
Chevron is committed to providing information on critical industry issues and is regularly asked to share its expertise at industry events. "As the trucking industry awaits the introduction of the new API CJ-4 engine oil, Chevron is working to provide the information needed to understand the full scope of the new oil and the impact it will have on the market," explains McGeehan. "Seminars like this are one way for Chevron to directly address customer and industry concerns as we make the transition to 2007."

Exceeding All Requirements
In June, Chevron was the first to announce that its new diesel engine oils, including Delo(r) 400 LE(tm) (Low Emissions) Multigrade SAE 15W-40 and Texaco Ursa(r) Premium TDX EC(tm) (Emission Control) SAE 15W-40 had passed all American Petroleum Institute (API) and U.S. original equipment manufacturer (OEM) tests required to meet the new API CJ-4 diesel engine oil specification.
Delo and Ursa API CJ-4 oils exceed the performance standards of the current API specification, CI-4 Plus, specifically in areas of wear control for valve-train, bearing and ring-liners, oxidation control, soot dispersancy, piston deposit control and oil consumption control. The company's new API CJ-4 oils also offer improved performance for existing and 2007 engines operating on ultra low sulfur diesel (ULSD).
Supporting Two Specifications
In March, Chevron was the first to announce it is offering both an API CJ-4 and an API CI-4 Plus version of its diesel engine oils based on customer feedback and expected market demand.
