                                    Group 1: Recognized small displacement
sports cars and sedans in 

production prior to 1973, select G- and H-modified and D sports 

racers displacing less than 1,100cc, Formula Vee, Formula 500 and 

front-engined Formula Junior cars.  Ex: A.C., Alfa Romeo, Arnolt-

Bristol, Austin Healey Sprite, Austin and Mini-Cooper, Elva, 

Ginetta, Lola, MG T-series, MGA , MG Midget, Lotus 7, Morgan, 

Sunbeam Alpine Triumph, Turner, BMC, Cooper, OSCA, Sadler 

and Stanguellini.   

 

                                    Group 2: Formula cars conforming to the
2006 Monoposto Racing 

Rules and Regulations.  Ex: Alexis, Ausper, Brabham, Caldwell, 

Chevron, Cooper, Elden, Elva, Lola, Lotus, Hawke, March, 

Merlyn and Titan. 

 

Group 3: Recognized series-produced sports cars and sedans in 

production prior to 1972.  Ex: Austin-Healey, Alfa Romeo Giulia, 

BMW, Corvette, Daimler SP250, Elva Courier, Ford Cortina, 

Frazer Nash, Jaguar XK-series and Mark II, MGB, Morgan, 

Porsche 356, SAAB 96, Sunbeam Alpine and Tiger, Triumph TR-4 

series and GT6 and Turner.  

 

Group 4: Limited-production sports cars, racing "specials" and 

front-engined Formula and GT cars built or in production prior to 

1960.  Ex: Allard, Aston Martin, Bocar, Chevrolet, Cooper, Devin 

SS, Echnida, Elva, Ferrari, Jaguar, Lister-Chevrolet, Lola, Lotus, 

Maserati, Mercedes, OSCA, Porsche and Scarab. 

 

                                    Group 5: Under 2.0-liter purpose-built
sports racers as raced 

between 1960 and 1972, World Sports Car Championship and 

World Manufacturers' Championship GT cars and prototypes as 

raced between 1960 and 1972, USRRC and Can-Am cars raced 

before 1967 with invited later models and American front-engined 

"Specials" as raced after 1959.  Ex: Alfa Romeo, Bobsy SR2, 

Brabham, Chaparral, Cheetah, Chevron, Cobra, Elfin, Elva, 

Ferrari, Ford, Genie, Lola, Lotus, McLaren, McKee, Merlyn, 

Porsche and Sadler.  

 

Group 6: Selected big-bore production sports car and sedans 

through 1972.  Ex: AC Cobra, AMX, Aston Martin, Chevrolet, 

Corvette, DeTomaso Pantera, Dodge Challenger, Ferrari, Ford 

Falcon, Jaguar E-type, Javelin, Mercury Cougar, Plymouth 

Barracuda, Pontiac Firebird, Porsche, and Shelby.

 

Group 7: Can-Am cars as raced after 1967 on slick tires, World 

Championship of Makes sports cars as raced after 1970 on slicks, 

under 2.0-liter sports cars as raced after 1972, center-seat Can-Am 

cars, SCCA ASR and BSR, and sports 2000 cars through 1986.  

Ex: Chaparral, Ferrari, Lola, March, Matich, McKee, McLaren, 

Porsche, Shadow, Alfar Romeo, Alpine, Chevron, Matra-Simca, 

Abarth, Bobsy, Mallock, Frisbee, Crossle, Swift and Tiga.

 


Group 8: Recognized series-produced sports cars and sedans in 


production prior to 1979 and later cars by invitation.  Ex: Alfra 


Romeo, Aston Martin, BMW, Datsun, DeTomaso Pantera, Ferrari, 


Jensen-Healey, Lotus, MG, Porsche, Sunbeam Tiger and Triumph.  


 

                                    Group 9: Formula cars meeting Monoposto
Racing Formula 70 

eligibility.  These cars have a cut-off date of 1979.  Cars in this 

group must have a flat-bottom, pre-ground effects chassis and can 

include a very wide range of open-wheeled Formula cars with very 

different performance potentials.

 

Group 10: Selected GT sports cars and sedans as raced between 

1973 and 1996.  All cars must have been built or modified to 

compete in a recognized pre-1996 racing series, such as the Trans-

Am and the IMSA GTU and GTO classes.  Ex: BMW, Chevrolet, 

Datsun, Ferrari, Ford, Jaguar, Lotus, Mazda, Nissan, Porsche and 

Triumph.
