Imperial Palace Presents Blackhawk Expo During Concours Week at Pebble Beach
LAS VEGAS Aug. 10, 2006; For the third consecutive year, the Imperial Palace Hotel & Casino will be the presenting sponsor at the 17th annual Blackhawk Exposition Sale Aug. 16 through Aug. 20 at Pebble Beach on the Monterrey Peninsula in California.
The Auto Collections, owned by Don Williams and Richie Clyne and located on the fifth level of the IP self-parking facility, will provide 20 classic cars for the expo sale including a 1934 Packard V-12 Custom LeBaron Coupe. Another 45 vehicles will come from the Blackhawk Collection in Danville, Calif., which is also owned by Williams. The automobiles, ranging in value from $100,000 to $5 million, collectively are worth more than $100 million.
The five-day event is capped by the prestigious 56-year-old Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on Sunday, Aug. 20. Described as the Super Bowl of all car shows, it is an international gathering of automobile enthusiasts celebrating the "best of the best" - the most significant, most beautiful and most historic automobiles from around the world.
The Blackhawk Collection is honored to have been chosen to display two of the elite field of only 175 automobiles in the show: a 1967 Bizzarini P538 Coupe and 1928 Mercedes Benz S Tourer originally built for Al Jolson.
The Imperial Palace is home to the award-winning tribute show "Legends in Concert" and the DealertainersT, celebrity impersonators who deal blackjack. Imperial Palace is the most central stop on the Las Vegas Monorail.
