IndyCar Drivers Dixon, Wheldon Ready to Man the Phones, 

Take Ticket Orders for Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma

 

Target Chip Ganassi Drivers Will Also Take Part in Media Press
Conference

 

WHAT:

IndyCar(r) Series drivers Dan Wheldon and Scott Dixon will meet with
media members at Infineon Raceway in advance of the Indy Grand Prix of
Sonoma weekend, Aug. 25-27. Both drive for Target Chip Ganassi Racing.

 

WHEN: 

Aug. 17, 11:30 a.m.

 

WHERE:

Guest Services Building (Gate 1 entrance), Infineon Raceway. This
building is located to your immediate left as you come to the Gate 1
entrance.

 

VISUAL:

In addition to meeting with media members, both Dixon and Wheldon will
become Infineon Raceway ticket sellers for the upcoming Indy Grand Prix
of Sonoma. Race fans will get the rare opportunity to chat with Wheldon
and Dixon, and at the same time, purchase tickets for the upcoming Indy
Grand Prix of Sonoma weekend.

 

Race fans can call directly into the raceway at 800-870-RACE or come to
the track in-person to the Guest Services building, which is located at
the main entrance into the facility. Both Dixon and Wheldon will be
manning the phones from 11:30-noon. 

 

MEDIA AVAILABILITY:

Both drivers will be available following the media stunt at noon.
However, media members are encouraged to witness the two drivers during
their time as Infineon Raceway ticket sellers.

 

ABOUT THE DRIVERS:

Wheldon: 2005 IRL and Indianapolis 500 champion. He has 10 career
victories and currently sits third in the IRL points standings.

Dixon: 2003 IRL champion. He has 14 career victories and is extremely
polished on permanent road courses, winning each of the last two years
at Watkins Glen (N.Y.). He placed seventh at Infineon Raceway in 2005.
Dixon is currently fourth in points with two wins this year.
