Chrome(R) Launches Carbook Fleet Edition

First Web-Based Pricing and Configuration Tool Made Specifically for Fleet Professionals

PORTLAND, Ore., Aug. 9 -- Chrome Systems Inc., an industry leader in collecting, enhancing and distributing best-in-class automotive data, today announced the introduction of Carbook Fleet Edition, the first web-based, multi-user vehicle pricing and configuration system made specifically for the fleet market.

Chrome pioneered the technology behind electronic vehicle configuration, and more than 13,500 dealerships and over 2,600 websites utilize Chrome vehicle data. Carbook Fleet Edition is the next-generation version of the company's widely used PC Carbook(R) program, which has been a benchmark for vehicle pricing and configuration information for 20 years. This new web-based application combines accurate new car pricing and specification data with integrated lifecycle management tools, helping fleet managers develop end-to-end perspectives on vehicle procurement and more accurate annual budgets.

Carbook Fleet provides instant online access to the descriptions, standard equipment lists, technical specifications, warranty information and ordering details for over 8,000 new vehicles. It gives customers the ability to save, edit and share vehicle templates among account users, and to carry them over to new model years, saving time and ensuring consistency from quote to quote. Users can also create and store libraries of the aftermarket options frequently needed to complete vehicle packages, and can apply them to specific vehicles with a single mouse click.

Through Carbook Fleet Edition, users also have access to Commercial Fleet Residuals, a web-based product from ALG (Automotive Lease Guide). ALG residual values are a definitive source for value forecasts on leased vehicles. This combination of new car information and future value forecasts provides Fleet Edition users with a comprehensive research and pricing tool, all in one easy-to-access package.

"Fleet professionals need to have more information about packages, options and vehicle makes and models than ever before," said Peter Batten, General Manager of Chrome Systems Inc. "Carbook Fleet enables them to research and price vehicles with confidence, while fleet-centric tools such as residual forecasts and lifecycle cost analyses will help them better understand their purchasing options in this more complex world."

Janis Christensen, director of corporate fleet management services at Mercury Associates, Inc., a leading fleet management consulting firm that advised the development of this new tool, said, "We believe that Chrome's Carbook Fleet Edition offers time-saving features that will be attractive to both corporate and government fleet managers. Functionality such as incorporating aftermarket and upfitted equipment, vehicle selection lifecycle cost analysis and user libraries should be well-received by fleet managers seeking to improve productivity and accuracy within their fleet operations."
