WI Congressman Ryan to See Modine Fuel Cell Technology, Including Hydrogen Refueling Station Reformer

RACINE, Wis.--Aug. 9, 2006--Modine Manufacturing Company , a world leader in designing and developing thermal solutions for markets including fuel cells, announced that Representative Paul Ryan, from Wisconsin's First Congressional District, will visit Modine's research and development facility in Racine today, Wednesday, August 9, to see the latest fuel cell and new hydrogen refueling station reformer technology. Modine is now in the second phase of development with Chevron Technology Ventures LLC to produce on-site hydrogen generation for hydrogen fueling stations.

Modine developed a highly integrated Advanced Steam Methane Reformer (ASMR) that will be used in the refueling station, currently on test at a Chevron lab in Houston. "We are happy to have Congressman Ryan visit our facility and learn more about our products and technology. As gasoline prices continue to increase, everyone, from drivers to fleet operators, is looking for new solutions in hybrids and fuel cell vehicles. They will also need the infrastructure, like the hydrogen refueling station, to support it," said Mark Baffa, Modine's Director of the Fuel Cell Products Group. "We have been working on fuel cells since 1997, and had a dedicated group of engineers in the Fuel Cells Product Group since 2000. This is a future growth area for Modine."

Ryan is a member of the House of Representatives' Ways and Means Committee and the Budget Committee, as well as the Joint Economic Committee, and is interested in fuel alternatives including hybrids and fuel cells.
