DaimlerChrysler Truck Financial Teams up With Chicago Cares to Renovate Two Chicago Public Schools
WHAT: 120 volunteers from DaimlerChrysler Truck Financial headquartered in Lisle will be spending Wednesday, August 9, teaming up with Chicago Cares to refurbish the Young Elementary School. The 120 volunteers will be painting, cleaning and landscaping. WHO: Todd Hubbard, Vice President of Credit, Collections and Internal Operations at DaimlerChrysler Truck Financial WHEN: 12:30 - 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 9 WHERE: Young Elementary School 1434 North Parkside OTHER: Located in the North Austin area, Ella Flagg Young Elementary is a Chicago Public School serving approximately 1,650 students in grades K-8. The student body is roughly 95 percent African American and four percent Hispanic, and almost all students live in the school's neighborhood. More than 95 percent of students qualify for free or reduced priced lunches. In addition to Wednesday's work at the Young School, DaimlerChrysler Truck Financial volunteers, again in conjunction with Chicago Cares, will do similar work Thursday, August 10, at the Ericson Academy, another Chicago public school.
