Steve, 46, brings over 17 years of valuable industry experience to the job, with previous sales and marketing roles at both Peugeot and Rover Group. During his time at the latter, his positions included MINI Brand Manager, as well as Head of Marketing for the whole MG Rover Group.
‘This is an exciting and important stage in the development of the SEAT brand,’ said Steve. ‘I am really relishing the opportunity to build awareness and develop the brand proposition. The launch of the exciting Leon FR last month – which spearheads the whole SEAT FR Series – and the extreme Leon Cupra at the end of the year, give the SEAT brand a great product platform. I believe that there is a real opportunity to create an emotional pull for the brand that builds on our sporty credentials, and really connects with our target customers.’
Peter Wyhinny, Director of SEAT UK, said: ‘We are very pleased to elevate Steve to the position of Head of Marketing. His considerable experience and thorough understanding and passion for the SEAT brand will stand us in good stead as we move forwards with exciting upcoming new products. With our UK sales already up by over 14% so far this year in a market down by more than 4%, SEAT is definitely one to watch!’
Steve, a keen golfer and football fan, is married with two children, and lives in Solihull in the West Midlands. His replacement in the role of National Communications Manager for SEAT UK will be announced in the near future.
