ROBERTSON BRINGS MIDWEST FOCUS PAVEMENT MIDGET HOT STREAK TO DIRT SATURDAY
INDIANAPOLIS – After wins last week in USAC Midwest Pavement Ford Focus
Midget Car Series action, James Robertson will continue his season-long
championship run and attempt to dethrone Tate Martz again this weekend, only
this time on dirt.
The Midwest Dirt division, which suffered its third rainout of the season
Sunday at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis., looks to run its second
race of 2006 this Friday at Lake Odessa Speedway in Michigan.
Only 20 points separate Martz and Robertson in the Pavement Series after
each won a race last week. Robertson topped the competition Wednesday at
Anderson Speedway in Indiana, driving the No. 42 Robertson Drywall Beast to
the stripe first ahead of Ricky Ehrgott, Martz, Mario Clouser and Adam
Kramer.
Robertson closed the championship chase even more with a win Friday at
Hawkeye Downs Speedway in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, taking the checkered flag
ahead of Martz, Tony Main, Chett Gehrke and Robbie Ray.
Jordan Noblitt leads the Dirt standings after winning the only other race of
the season, at Gas City I-69 Speedway in Indiana.
