DEARBORN, Mich., Aug. 4 -- Brian Wright of Charlotte, N.C. spent Tuesday, August 1 dogfighting in an L-39 jet at 550 miles per hour against Team Ford Racing Driver Carl Edwards as the winner of Ford's "Carl's Thrill Ride" sweepstakes.

The three sorties between Carl Edwards and Brian Wright began in Burbank, California and took place over the Mojave Desert. Wright's prize began with a trip to San Diego where he and his brother vacationed and toured the Mirimar Naval Air Station.

Wright entered the sweepstakes at http://www.carlsthrillride.com/ where he also was diagnosed as having the fictitious disease, Overactive Adrenaline Disorder (OAD). It is a condition resulting in a powerful need for constant excitement, which overstimulates the brain, which in turn causes the release of an inordinate quantity of adrenaline. The sweepstakes is a recommended adrenaline fix for sufferers.

Over the past 12 years, Carl Edwards has accumulated two NASCAR sanctioned track championships, three Rookie-of-the-Year honors, and 75 feature wins while racing on both dirt and pavement tracks across the country. In 2006, he is competing full time in both the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series and Busch Series. He drives the No. 99 Office Depot Ford in the Cup Series and the No. 60 Ameriquest/Henkel Ford in the Busch Series.

Ford Fusion Racing

The Fusion has started off strong, with 17 NASCAR highlights already for 2006, including a combined eight wins and nine poles. The 2006 Ford Fusion will be joined by the new 2006 NASCAR Fusion, which made its racing debut at Daytona. In 2006, the NASCAR Fusion will be raced by 15 Busch Series teams and nine Nextel Cup teams. This is the first time a new Ford nameplate has been simultaneously launched in production and NASCAR since the 1968 Ford Torino. The production Ford Fusion competes in the midsize-sedan category, offering bold styling, engaging driving dynamics, and either a 2.3-liter four- cylinder engine or a 3.0-liter V-6 engine.
