Japanese Automakers' 2006 Overseas Production Statistics
[First Quarter and Yearly Cumulative]

Overseas vehicle production by Japanese automakers in the 
first quarter of 2006 totaled 2,722,011 units, an increase of 
13.5% over the same quarter the previous year in all regions 
around the world.  This is explained by expanded overseas 
production in the world's markets.

Results for fiscal 2005 (April 2005-March 2006) were up from 
the previous year, rising 10.6% to 10,929,918 units, owing to 
expanded local production in the world's markets excepting 
Middle East.
