AutoSoft Announces Fixed Ops Upgrades to its Popular DMS

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa.--Aug. 2, 2006--AutoSoft International, the third-largest dealer management system provider, has announced several upgrades to the fixed operations functions within its "most recommended" dealer management system (DMS).

Enhancements include upgrades to the AutoSoft DMS Parts Inventory and Service Writing components. As customary with AutoSoft, these upgrades are delivered to AutoSoft DMS users automatically for no charge.

AutoSoft was ranked the "most recommended" DMS among a field of 11 DMS system providers in the 2005 National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) survey of auto dealership personnel.

The AutoSoft DMS delivers a robust, fully functional parts and service module to help service and parts managers better track and analyze parts and service data. Upgrades have been made to the following functions:

-- Service Writer: Service managers can now add up to 25 technicians and labor operations codes to each repair. Now when a technician who makes a repair diagnosis isn't qualified to make that repair the qualified technician can be added to the same repair. This applies also where a warranty repair requires multiple techs and labor operations to complete, thus simplifying how multiple repairs on one vehicle are accounted for.

-- Parts Inventory: Parts managers can now print a packing list when generating an order, a time-saving enhancement, and a new data field allows counter personnel to add a code that indicates why a particular customer is tax-exempt. This code is then automatically transferred to the AutoSoft DMS accounting Integrated Parts Sales module and prints on the dealership's tax reports.

Fixed operations data in the AutoSoft DMS are quickly accessible in condensed summary "Cliff Notes" formats through AutoSoft's Dealer Principal and General Manager modules. Thus key financial and operational metrics can be viewed quickly and often and printed in PDF format to screen or printer.

A privately held company, AutoSoft has provided technology solutions to new-car dealerships for more than 20 years. AutoSoft today provides DMS solutions and support services to more than 1,700 dealerships nationwide. Its Windows- and PC-based AutoSoft DMS operates on PCs and other equipment the dealership may already own, saving users hardware costs. The AutoSoft DMS provides full DCS integration with all domestic and most import manufacturers' systems, including the GM RIM program, plus integration with many third-party solutions providers such as RouteOne and DealerTrack.
