American Standard Appoints Edward Schlesinger Vice President and General Auditor
PISCATAWAY, N.J., Aug. 2, 2006 -- American Standard Companies Inc. today announced the appointment of Edward Schlesinger as vice president and general auditor.
Schlesinger will lead the company's global audit team and provide financial audit services to all of American Standard's businesses. He will have overall responsibility for establishing and shaping policies and controls to maintain reporting accuracy and ensure regulatory compliance. He will report directly to G. Peter D'Aloia, senior vice president and chief financial officer.
"Ed possesses the knowledge, experience and integrity to lead our auditing function and safeguard American Standard's value and reputation. In today's business environment, this role is extremely important and Ed is well-suited to fill it," D'Aloia said.
Schlesinger joined American Standard in 1994 as senior accounting analyst and then served as manager of financial reporting. He assumed his most recent position as assistant controller in 2000.
Prior to American Standard, Schlesinger worked with Sea Land Service as a senior financial analyst and before that at General Instrument. He has a bachelor's degree in finance from Montclair State University and an MBA from St. John's University.
