Wayfinder Tops New ABI Research European Aftermarket Navigation Vendor Matrix Rankings
OYSTER BAY, N.Y.--Aug. 1, 2006--Wayfinder has been ranked at the top of the latest European Aftermarket Navigation Vendor Matrix released by ABI Research.TomTom and Alturion claimed the second and third spots in the company's most recent vendor evaluation.
The Vendor Matrix is an analytical tool developed by ABI Research to provide a clear understanding of vendors' positions in specific markets.
Vendors are assessed by ABI Research on the important parameters of "innovation" and "implementation" across several criteria, unique to each vendor matrix. For this Vendor Matrix, the innovation criteria included grading of the featureset (such as the presence of text-to-speech), usage of 3D graphics, the inclusion of entertainment features, the integration of traffic information, connectivity options, and any other unique features.
Criteria for implementation assessment included cost, distribution channels, form factor, quality of POI, and complexity of installation.
