Triumph Group and Infosys Sign Center of Excellence Agreement; Three Year Contract with Infosys Will Give Triumph Competitive Edge with World Class Engineering Resources, Enhanced Flexibility
FREMONT, Calif. & WAYNE, Pa.--Aug. 1, 2006--Infosys Technologies Limited today announced that Triumph Group, Inc., a global supplier of aerospace systems, components and services, has signed a three year Center of Excellence (CoE) agreement with Infosys. By partnering with Infosys on this CoE, Triumph will be able to leverage Infosys' world-class aerospace engineering services, enabling Triumph to respond quickly to market shifts and more effectively manage its engineering resources. This announcement marks the culmination of a relationship that began in January 2005 between Infosys and one of Triumph's subsidiaries, Triumph Composites. Based on that initial success with Infosys, Triumph Composites' parent company, Triumph Group, decided to sign a broader, three-year CoE agreement with Infosys.
"We are pleased to partner with Infosys in establishing a Center of Excellence," said Richard C. Ill, Triumph's President and Chief Executive Officer. "We view this relationship as a unique opportunity to access supplemental engineering expertise that will support our future growth."
Infosys' CoEs act as virtual extensions of a company's engineering team--providing concept design, detailing and analysis services. In an era where global engineering talent is in extremely short supply, the CoE model is an increasingly attractive option for companies. By partnering with Infosys on a CoE, Triumph will be gaining access to high-caliber aerospace engineering expertise. This partnership will give Triumph greater flexibility and scalability, enabling it to expand its breadth and depth of customer engagements.
"Today's announcement with Triumph Group is significant because it is testament to Infosys' strong market presence in aerospace engineering. Similarly, this is the fourth CoE agreement Infosys has signed this year, proving that aerospace and automotive companies worldwide are recognizing the value of the global delivery model," said Franco Gonsalves, Vice President, Automotive and Aerospace Unit, Infosys Technologies Limited. "We've got many exciting projects in the pipeline for the Triumph/Infosys CoE and we look forward to helping Triumph transform the way they approach engineering and design."
With top-notch aerospace talent increasingly hard to source, many companies are finding it difficult to scale their global engineering teams. Infosys' Aerospace Practice is an option for companies who need to work with high-caliber aerospace engineering talent. Infosys' aerospace expertise spans across aircraft structures - wings, fuselage, empennage, pylons and engines; and Infosys engineers have helped companies through every phase of the product development process, from concept design to stress calculations to manufacturing support including advanced composite materials.
