"WEDNESDAY NIGHT THUNDER" BACK THIS WEEK AT ANDERSON

INDIANAPOLIS – USAC Regional, Indiana Ford Focus and Kenyon Midget Car
Series competitors hope a change of venue will be enough to keep the rain
away Wednesday when they take to Anderson Speedway in Indiana.

The races will be the first at the quarter-mile track since July 5.

Rain again returned to Mt. Lawn Speedway in New Castle, Ind. during last
week’s edition of “Wednesday Night Thunder”, but it didn’t start before
Blake Fitzpatrick earned his initial USAC victory in Kenyon competition. The
West Terre Haute, Ind. native, driving the No. 10 Lincoln Trail
Ford/Forsythe Racing Kenyon/Yamaha, led the final 19 laps of the 30-lap
contest after taking the lead from point leader Chris Windom on Lap 12.

Former champion Dakoda Armstrong was second, followed by Sammy Imel, Windom
and Jordan
Pennington. Imel cut Windom’s lead to 21 points.

The Regional and Focus races were called off due to the weather, but have
been rescheduled Aug. 9. Scott Thoman leads the Regional Midget points,
while James Robertson owns the lead in the Indiana Ford Focus standings.
