Andretti Battles to Eighth-Place Finish in NYSE Car at Michigan

BROOKLYN, Mich. (July 30, 2006) - Marco Andretti drove to a hard-earned eighth-place finish
in the #26 NYSE car Sunday evening at the Firestone Indy 400 at Michigan International Speedway.
Andretti, starting the event from 19th place on the grid, methodically picked his way through the
field and was battling amongst the leaders, residing in fourth place by lap 60.  While the NYSE car didn't
have the speed to contend for the victory, Andretti battled with a group of cars which included Ed
Carpenter, Kosuke Matsuura and Jeff Simmons for a top-10 position.  He eventually came home in
eighth, his fifth consecutive top-10 finish and sixth of the season.
Helio Castroneves took the victory with Vitor Meira second, Dan Wheldon third, teammate Tony
Kanaan fourth and Tomas Scheckter rounding out the top five.
Through 11 events of the 2006 season, Andretti stands seventh in the driver point standings with
250 points.
Andretti and the entire IndyCar Series take a week off before resuming action at the Meijer Indy
300 at Kentucky Speedway on Sunday, Aug. 13. The event will be televised live by ABC, beginning at
3:30 p.m. (EDT). It can also be heard live by XM Satellite Radio subscribers by tuning into XM channel
145.

Marco Andretti, #26 NYSE Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
"I think this was the best result we could have had unless we would have had a late yellow. It
seemed like the NYSE car was quickest in a big group. I needed more than one car in front of me to be
fast. We were a sitting duck on our own which was a bummer. But, even though we didn't really think we
had a car to win the race at the start of the day, a late yellow could have put us in contention, believe it or
not."

Kyle Moyer, General Manager, Andretti Green Racing:
"It wasn't a bad day. It was the best education Marco could have. We got him up front and he's a
fast learner. He took a car that was four mile-an-hour off the pace and hung with the leaders. He did a
fantastic job today."
