Kanaan Drives Team 7-Eleven Car
to Fourth-Place Finish at Michigan

BROOKLYN, Mich. (July 30, 2006) -Tony Kanaan piloted the #11 Team 7-Eleven car to a hard-
fought fourth-place finish Sunday evening at the Firestone Indy 400 at Michigan International Speedway.
Starting from fourth place on the starting grid, Kanaan remained among the top five throughout
much of the race. While not able to stay with the two leading cars of Helio Castroneves and Vitor Meira, he
was able to dice with Dan Wheldon and Tomas Scheckter for third position.  A quick final pit stop on lap
174 provided the 2004 IndyCar Series champion a comfortable margin over Scheckter, but Kanaan wasn't
able to catch Wheldon for third, trailing by .7 seconds as they crossed the finish line.
Castroneves took the victory with Meira second and Scheckter rounding out the top five.
Through 11 events this season, Kanaan stands sixth in the driver point standings with 309 points,
11 points shy of fifth-place Meira.
Kanaan and the entire IndyCar Series will head to Sparta, Ky., for the Meijer Indy 300 on Sunday,
Aug. 13, at Kentucky Speedway. The event will be televised live by ABC Sports beginning at 3:30 p.m.
(EDT). It can also be heard live by XM Satellite Radio subscribers by tuning into XM channel 145.

Tony Kanaan, #11 Team 7-Eleven Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
"I don't think Team 7-Eleven had the car to win but we had a car to finish third. But Ganassi put
Dixon between Dan and myself. They are going for a championship and we are going for race wins. We
have two superspeedway races remaining and AGR has four cars for the payback. We've been struggling
on the superspeedways this year and we're still a little behind. But fourth is better than we've been and we'll
keep working."

Kim Green, President, Andretti Green Racing:
"We had a chance to finish third but Ganassi used team tactics which weren't very good. I'm
disappointed that the IRL didn't get Dixon out of the way earlier. Third place would have been almost a
victory for us because the car wasn't that good. I'm very proud of everyone on Team 7-Eleven; great pit
stops and Tony drove the wheels off it all day."
