A clean sweep of two classes leaves Vincec unbeatable
MOSPORT, ONTARIO – Mike Vincec is carrying the high of being crowned King
of the Bay at Barrie a few weeks ago to a whole new level. Vincec at
Mosport on Sunday, site of the final day of the Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting
Championship event, clean swept not one but two classes, including the
headline Formula Senior class. Vincec also won the F1-K Senior class on the
day. Other winners included; Ryan Klutt in Canada Junior Heavy, Joshua
Korenyi in Rotax Max Junior, and Chris Holman in World Formula Senior.
Formula Senior
Pfaff Fast Qualifier; Mike Vincec
Mike Vincec went flag to flag in the prefinal, but was pushed most of the
way by Frank Launi. Launi finished second with Kyle Marcelli finishing
third. In the final, Launi just took the lead before mechanical issues
ended his race. Vincec was pushed by Curtis Fox in the late going, but Fox
had to settle for second. Marcelli was third.
Canada Junior Light
Pfaff Fast Qualifier; Reid Arnold
Reid Arnold wasn’t able to convert the pole into a win in the prefinal as
he had to settle for sixth. Dylan Van Teinen took the win over Austin
Milwain and Anthony Furfari, who was third. In the final, Ryan Klutt took
the win over Anthony Furfari and Reid Arnold.
F1-K Senior
Pfaff Fast Qualifier; Mike Vincec
Mike Vincec was able to turn his pole into a prefinal win, just edging
Marco Di Leo and Steven Mathews. In the final, Di Leo got the jump on
Vincec, but Vincec was able to pass him for the lead and cruise home for
his second final win on the day.
Rotax Max Junior
Pfaff Fast Qualifier; Kevin Monteith
Kevin Monteith was dominant all day in Rotax Max Junior. He won the
prefinal by 2.5 seconds over Joshua Korenyi and Gary Klutt. In the final,
Monteith won on the track, but was disqualified for a technical infraction,
handing the win to Cory Luciano, who came from eighth on the grid. Korenyi
was second with Dylan Gibson third.
World Formula Senior
Pfaff Fast Qualifier; Ryan Dennahower
Ryan Dennahower converted the pole into a win in the prefinal, but only
completed one lap in the final. Behind Dennahower in the prefinal were
