LEEDS, Ala,, July 30 - Contact on lap 12 forced the F~sds the NerdKkiran Racing DORAN JE4 Ford ta play catch-up for tha bulk of Sunday's Porsche 250 pre- sented  by  Bradley Arant  Rolex  Series  race  at  Barber  Motorsports  Park.  Drlvers Harrison Brix     San Jose, Calif. and Terry Borchrllrr of Vera Beach, Fla., along with the  rest of  the Lebanon, Ohio-bas~d team, preserved to  bring the  No, 77 home in 15th place in the 42-car field and prwide more exposure for the Kodak Easyshare Syatem, Amp'd Mobile and SIRIUS with the live PEE TV coverage,

Brix qualified 20th but he actually started 19th when one car withdrew before the  ram.   Me  moved  up another spot  right away when  Randy  Ruhlman want  off murse on lap one in front of  him, sanding a large clump of  mud anto the  No. 77'8 windshield before it fell off. The contact occurred 24 minutes into the race when appanntly Labonte did- n't see Brix In Turn Nine of the 2.3-mile, 16-turn road course. Brix spun but W  ~  I  able to restart the ear and make it back to the pits for frwh Hoasiers and fuel, but the c3r'3 dutch had been damaged and the entry was now back in 36th place, two laps dawn. A yellow flag on lap 18 when two ears slopped on the course.  Many of  the other cornspatiton pitted and Brix wa3 able to regain one lap by lap 20 and move up to 30th spot.  He pitted himself on lap 21 for fuel only, but he remained only one lap down thanks to team owner Kevin Daran's smart pit strategy, When the green flew again on lap 22 Brix was in 19th spot, one lap down, with

JC France fn 18th pPsiticn Bath Inched ahead In the shndinga, and by lap 31 France was in  17th and Brix was in 18th and they wera the only drlvera one lap dawn, Brix said the car was very good in traffic at that point, but then the wind start- ed to pick up and the skias grew dark. The bmn had a stratagy in mind if a thunder- storm should occur, but It  never lalned, Brix stayed in tha car and was in 17th place, sandwiched between Oswaldo Negri and France in the standinga, about an hour and a half into the ~0..h0ur-andd5-minuSe race.

With two hours gone he had moved into 15th place, running between Damn Law and Boris 3aid.  He was getling tired by that point but he W$  stilt recording vary eonolatent lap3 that were a@ fast as many gf the car8 in the top  10 at that point,  By lap 77 his fastest lap of She  race so far wag the 1 :24.978 he pooted on lap 67, The fuel light than demanded athmtion 853  the team brought Brix in an lap 80 under gram while he was in 15th place,  Since there was still no rain despite Mother Nature's thraats, the car took on four frash Hoosier Qlicks and fuel and Borcheller took over at that paint.

Tho entv slipped to  17th after the $tap and wa8 hnro  laps down at that point, but then Boris Said crashed betwren Turns Fiver and Six on lap 82, and with 15 min- utes  remaining in  the  race  Borchaller  was  up  fa  16th  spot.    Haywood  and  B,J. Zaoharius tangled on lap 88 to move Boraheller up to 15th and that's where he finished, the only driver on that lap. Borchellrr set the car's fastest lap dthe race on lap 94 of  the 37-lap race with a time of 4 24,257 (79.22 MPH)
