JEG'S NORTHERN SPORTSNATIONALS IN THE BOOKS; BUTNER, COUGHLIN GRAB WINS

HEBRON, Ohio - Seven Champions were crowned this weekend for
the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Jeg's Northern Sportsnationals. Bo
Butner and Mike Coughlin lead the winners with Bunter out running Brian
Browell in the final of Comp Eliminator while Coughlin of Delaware, Ohio
held off No. 1 qualifier Tommy Turner in Top Sportsman.

Butner marched through the field posting a run of 7.383
seconds at 186.28 mph to Browell's 7.430 at 180.09.

Coughlin put his '06 Cobalt in the winner's circle running
7.433 seconds at 184.57 mph.

"This is great to win here at home and especially the Jeg's
race," expressed Coughlin. "It's only our third time out for the Cobalt
in Top Sportsman but the guys made a few adjustments and she ran great."

Chuck Gallagher and Donnie Beeler had not won a national
event in 15 years. Until today when both took home the trophies.
Gallagher of Lexington, N.C., beat Jimbo Fields in Super Stock with a
lap of 9.814 seconds and Elizabethtown, Ky., racer Beeler won over
Johnny Fisher. Gallagher's last win can at the 1990 U.S. Nationals in
Indianapolis and Beeler's was also in 1990 right here at National Trail
Raceway.

Local favorite Rex Davis of Columbus picked up his first
ever national event win running a 10.915 second pass in Super Street.
Davis clocked in at 122.49 mph just ahead of Steve Dillman, a retired
fireman from Indianapolis, who ran 10.915 seconds at 127.80 mph.

David Tatum III ran right on his index with an 8.900 second
run in the final of Super Comp taking the win over Michael Fuqua. Tatum
of Palmetto, Ga., also picked up the NHRA Perfectly Strange Award for
making the perfect run.

Rounding out the winner's was Tatum's teammate Sherman
Adcock Jr. of Fortson, Ga., with a run of 9.907 seconds at 152.68 mph in
Super Gas. Adcock won over David Bishir II of Fort Wayne, Ind.

Ed Stuart and Kevin Helms made the trip to Columbus looking
to take home the elusive Jeg's Crown trophy but both fell short with
Helms loosing in round 3 of Super Stock to Mark Nowicki and Stuart
falling to Tommy Turner in the second round of Top Sportsman. The Jeg's
Crown is awarded to any driver who wins both the Jeg's.com Cajun
Sportsnationals back in April and then goes on to win the Jeg's Northern
Sportsnationals. Mike Ashely won the crown last year and remains the
only one to do so.

In Friday's action, Jim Pancake from neighboring Delaware,
Ohio, scored the win at his home track in the NHRA Mopar Hemi Super
Stock Challenge. Pancake took out fellow Ohio racer Joey Wilkes of
Zanesville, Ohio, with a lap of 8.850 seconds at 149.53 mph to Wilkes'
