Socks, Erhart, Frye and Hauenstein Wins at SSP on Friday Night

Newberrytown, PA (July 28, 2006) - David Socks of Hagerstown, Md., collected his first career Super Sportsman feature Friday night at Susquehanna Speedway Park. The night of season first-time winners continued in the Late Model features as Justin Erhart, who celebrated by doing a back flip off his car in Victory Lane, and Coleby Frye, both of Dover, won their respective main events. Frye captured the Late Model feature postponed from July 21. Also, Brian Hauenstein collected the 20-lap Street Stock feature and became the ninth different driver to win as many features at Susquehanna Speedway Park this season.

Socks started on the front row of the 20-lap Trail Motors Super Sportsman feature and was leading LeRoy Martin when the first caution came out on lap 3 for points leader Dave Calaman who had mechanical problems and stopped on the track.

A multi-car crash stopped the feature on lap 4. Cars driven by John Stehman and Brian Boughter flipped over several times. Aaron Eichelberger and Art Leidl were also involved in the incident. No one was injured.

When green flag racing resumed, Socks continued to distance himself from the rest of the pack. After several caution periods, Socks went on to post a commanding victory over Steve Fannasy, Jim Shuttlesworth, Bobby Hockenberry and Martin.

Aaron Eichelberger, Martin and Hockenberry won heat races for the 28 Super Sportsman cars.

Erhart was spectacular in the 20-lap Late Model feature race. He passed Jerry Bard on lap 13 then briefly relinquished the lead on lap 17 when John Ebersole passed for the top spot, but Ebersole fumbled in turn 2 which allowed Ehrhart to regain the lead. The race was placed under caution on the final lap, but Erhart topped Gerry Stutting Jr., Ebersole,

In the 20-lap makeup Late Model feature, Frye took advantage of Jake Jones' lap 18 misfortune. Frye led the final two laps for the win over Derrick Zirkle, Mike Spangler, Sterling Kinard and Gene Wrightstone.

Jerry Bard, Justin Erhart and Jake Jones won heat races for the 38 Late Models. Les Hare won the consolation.

Hauenstein passed Joey Hoffer midway through the 20-lap Street Stock feature after surviving several caution periods. Over the final half, Hauenstein, who started seventh, pulled away from Hoffer by five-car lengths for the victory. Hoffer settled for second followed by Wes Alleman, Eric Walker and Joe Whiteley.

Heat races for the 26 cars went to Hoffer, Walker and Sam Leonard Jr.
