Midtronics Files Intellectual Property Lawsuit against Argus Analyzers

WILLOWBROOK, Ill.--July 27, 2006--To protect its battery management intellectual property, Midtronics, Inc. (Willowbrook, IL, USA) has filed a patent infringement suit against Argus Analyzers (Jamestown, RI, USA). The suit claims that an Argus product violates a patent exclusively licensed by Midtronics. The suit was filed in US District Court in Chicago.

"Once again we are forced to protect our technology," said Steve McShane, President and Chief Executive Officer of Midtronics. "Midtronics innovations in the area of battery management significantly contribute to our commercial success and leadership position and are highly valuable assets." McShane continued, "The technologies that we have developed and patented have come at great expense and serve to benefit Midtronics customers. We will continue to take the actions necessary to protect these investments."

Midtronics holds a portfolio of more than 150 issued and pending patents in the United States and worldwide, relating to the areas of battery testing, charging and management. The company has a history of successful defense of its intellectual property and has retained the law firm of Wildman, Harrold, Allen and Dixon LLP as its counsel in this matter.
